The
Test Automation Architect is responsible for the
strategic design, implementation, and evolution of the test automation framework, ensuring it aligns with modern software development and DevOps practices. This role drives the
integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous feedback and faster, more reliable software releases. As a
technical leader and subject matter expert, the QA Automation Architect defines
best practices, coding standards, and governance to ensure maintainability and scalability of test automation. Through
collaboration with development, QA, and DevOps teams, they enhance test coverage, reduce manual effort, and optimize test execution. Additionally, this role explores and implements
AI-driven testing solutions and advanced automation technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy. By establishing
metrics and reporting mechanisms, the QA Automation Architect ensures visibility into software quality trends, driving continuous improvement across the testing lifecycle.

- Test Automation Strategy & Framework Development
- Design, implement, and maintain a scalable, reusable, and efficient test automation framework for UI, API, and integration testing using tools such as Cypress, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
- Define and enforce best practices, coding standards, and governance for test automation to ensure maintainability and scalability across development teams.
- Research and implement modern automation tools and AI-powered testing solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and coverage.
- Integration with CI/CD & Modern Development Practices
- Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous feedback and faster software releases.
- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to optimize test execution in cloud and containerized environments.
- Advocate for shift-left testing, enabling early defect detection and improved software quality.
- Technical Leadership & Team Upskilling
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for test automation, guiding QA engineers and developers on best practices.
- Lead technical upskilling efforts through training sessions, documentation, and mentoring to foster a culture of automation-first testing.
- Work closely with engineering teams to implement component-level and unit testing within development cycles.
- Test Data, Reporting, & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and manage test data strategies to ensure reliable test execution across automation suites.
- Establish key metrics and reporting dashboards to provide visibility into test coverage, execution results, and quality trends.
- Continuously identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, optimizing automation strategies for better performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment with Business Goals
- Partner with QA leadership, product teams, and DevOps to ensure alignment between automation initiatives and broader quality goals.
- Act as a bridge between QA, Development, and DevOps teams, ensuring that test automation aligns with business priorities.
