The Analytics Platform Engineer plays a critical role in designing and maintaining the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision-making across the organization. By ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based analytics platforms and data pipelines, this role enables scalable reporting, machine learning, and business intelligence solutions. It serves as a key technical partner to data analysts, engineers, and scientists, fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving platform excellence. The engineer also champions data governance, automation, and operational efficiency to enhance transparency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Ultimately, this role ensures the analytics platform evolves in step with business needs and emerging technologies.

Primary Objectives

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows for analytics, reporting, and machine learning..
• Administer and optimize cloud analytics environments, including access control, resource tuning, and usage monitoring.
• Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to enable efficient development and deployment of trusted data products.
• Automate data operations and governance workflows to improve compliance, quality, and transparency.
• Monitor platform health and proactively resolve issues to ensure high availability and data reliability.

The Analytics Platform Engineer

• Build and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, dbt, and orchestration tools aligned with business needs.
• Perform cloud platform administrative tasks such as user provisioning, access audits, and query performance tuning.
• Monitor pipeline execution and platform performance, resolving failures or latency issues as they arise.
• Optimize compute and storage resource usage across cloud environments to manage cost and efficiency.
• Assist with incident response and root cause analysis for platform-related issues impacting data availability or quality.
• Support occasional ad-hoc business reporting by crafting complex queries, dashboards or temporary models.

• Delivering robust, well-documented data pipelines and platform configurations that support reliable analytics, reporting, and data science across diverse tools and cloud environments.
• Continuously improving platform scalability, efficiency, and usability by identifying gaps and implementing enhancements in pipeline orchestration, data modeling, and developer tooling.
• Building strong cross-functional relationships as a collaborative, responsive partner to analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders who rely on the analytics platform.
• Demonstrating deep understanding of the end-to-end platform ecosystem—including dbt, orchestration layers, data catalogs, access controls, and cloud infrastructure—while driving improvements in stability, transparency, and performance.
