Your Role And Responsibilities
The Procurement Operations Support Professional role is responsible for supporting the various procurement activities and tasks that are not sourcing specific, ensuring maximum value add is attained for IBM's clients. The role involves several job role specialties, including procurement operations, business operations, policies and practices, global compliance, client services, bid management, supplier contract development . Provide exceptional client services, applying procurement business techniques to understand and satisfy client needs. Interface and support IBM's procurement teams, promoting collaboration and alignment. Support IBM strategic supply issues, ensuring procurement activities align with the organization's goals. Apply analytic skills to utilize cognitive tools, drive business value, and improve procurement processes. Adopt and apply agile techniques to improve procurement processes. (edited)
Role And Responsibilities
IBM's is building a global procurement operation and is seeking operational buyers to manage procurement for products and service within specific budget thresholds. In this role, you'll search for new source of supply, negotiate pricing, and procure Low-dollar, high-constraint items in alignment with IBM's procurement strategies. This position invoice close collaboration with strategic sourcing items, handling the purchase order lifecycle, and identifying automation opportunities to streamline the process. The successful candidate will also contribute to achieving operations saving target and support requisition creation for complex purchases. Responsibilities:
- Procure products/service within designated budget limits, identifying and sourcing new suppliers for constrained items.
- Conduct price negotiations and facilitate procurement in line with IBM's commodity strategies.
- Create purchase orders (PO) and manage all related PO processing tasks, Including updates, resolving blocked invoices, and addressing requester inquiries.
- Collaborate with the strategic sourcing team to implement strategic contract at the tactical level.
- Identify and support automation initiatives to reduce manual buyer workload and improve efficiency.
- Conduct periodic analysis within managed commodities to identify saving opportunities, enhance efficiency, and drive tactical initiatives.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in procurement, order management, and contract management processes.
- Good understanding of procurement lifecycle activities including vendor coordination, purchase order processing, contract documentation, and compliance tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability to emerging technologies and AI-driven tools, with willingness to learn and leverage AI for improving productivity and business processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
