This is an on-site, full-time role based in Ahmedabad for a Procurement Officer.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Source and procure coal (thermal/steam grade) and dyes intermediates (H-Acid, vinyl sulphone precursors, aromatic amines) from domestic and import channels
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers; negotiate pricing, credit terms, and quality parameters
- Manage end-to-end inbound logistics — road, rail, and coastal/port shipments — with a focus on cost and lead-time optimisation
- Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and transporter partners for import clearances and documentation
- Track market benchmarks and spot price movements to time procurement decisions effectively
- Maintain purchase registers, MIS reports, and vendor performance records in SAP/ERP
- Work closely with plant teams on material planning, inventory norms, and safety stock
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Graduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Commerce; MBA (Materials/SCM) preferred
- 2–5 years of purchase/procurement experience in chemicals, dyes, or allied industries
- Hands-on exposure to commodity procurement — coal, sulphur, or bulk chemicals is a plus
- Familiarity with import documentation, INCOTERMS, and customs clearance processes
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor-management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of any ERP system
- Fluent in Gujarati and Hindi; working English for supplier/vendor communication
