🏭 About Our Client:
Our client is a well-established steel manufacturing company, engaged in steel production and a range of downstream manufacturing operations. The company operates a large-scale, technically intensive production environment and works with both local and international suppliers to support its operations.
With a strong focus on quality, operational efficiency and uninterrupted production, the company is looking for experienced professionals who can contribute to its continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for the steel manufacturing plant
- Source and negotiate with local and international suppliers
- Obtain, evaluate and compare technical and commercial quotations
- Procure machinery, spare parts, consumables and maintenance materials
- Develop and manage reliable local and international suppliers
- Coordinate international procurement from International Vendors.
- Monitor purchase orders, deliveries and supplier performance
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Stores and Finance
- Control procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain critical spare-parts availability and reduce stock-outs
- Support inventory planning and minimise emergency procurement
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ERP data
- Ensure procurement compliance and proper documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement experience
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management skills
- Knowledge of the International industrial supplier market
- International sourcing and import experience
- Ability to understand technical specifications and industrial components
- Strong Excel and ERP/procurement software skills
- Good commercial and analytical skills
- Strong follow-up, coordination and communication skills
- High integrity, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
