Shipzip Logistics Services LLP is seeking a results-driven Ground Logistics Supervisor to spearhead our fleet expansion and vendor management operations. Your primary mission will be to identify, negotiate, and onboard high-quality commercial vehicles from the open market to meet our growing operational demands.
This role is centered on procurement and deployment, requiring a professional who understands the pulse of the local transport market and can hit aggressive monthly attachment targets.
Key Responsibilities- Market Procurement: Actively scout and procure commercial vehicles (LCVs, HCVs, etc.) from market vendors and individual owners.
- Monthly Targets: Ensure a consistent pipeline of vehicles, with a mandatory goal of attaching 5–7 new vehicles per month on a contractual basis.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Verify vehicle fitness, insurance, and permit documentation. Ensure all drivers and owners adhere to Shipzip’s contractual terms.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiate competitive monthly and trip-based rates to ensure cost-efficiency for the company while maintaining healthy vendor relationships.
- Deployment Management: Coordinate the initial deployment of newly attached vehicles to specific routes or client sites as per operational requirements.
- Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for fleet owners, resolving payment queries and contract renewals to ensure long-term retention.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in ground logistics, fleet procurement, or transport operations.
- Market Knowledge: Strong existing network of local transporters, brokers, and vehicle owners.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to close deals and manage vendor contracts effectively.
- Operational Grit: Ability to work on the field, visit transport hubs, and manage tight deadlines.
- Communication: Fluent in the local language and Hindi/English for effective documentation and reporting.
