About the Organization
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a 25-year-old, one of the world’s largest not-for-profit organizations implementing the Government’s Mid-Day Meal Programme. With operations across 16+ states and 78+ kitchens, we serve over 2.35 million meals and 1 million morning snacks daily to school children.
With an ambitious goal to serve 6 million meals per day by 2030, we are committed to eliminating classroom hunger and enabling education through a scalable, sustainable, and efficient food delivery model.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Executive to manage end-to-end sourcing and purchasing operations. The role focuses on vendor management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely procurement of quality materials to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing activities, vendor identification, and negotiations
- Prepare Comparative Statements (CS) and obtain necessary approvals
- Float RFQs, evaluate vendor quotations, and finalize suppliers
- Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) and share delivery schedules
- Track GRNs and maintain accurate procurement documentation for audits
- Ensure timely follow-up with vendors for delivery and quality compliance
- Coordinate procurement lifecycle through to delivery and payment closure
- Initiate and track payment requests to ensure timely vendor settlements
- Drive cost optimization through negotiation and value engineering
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and procurement dashboards for management
- Support procurement planning and conduct regular order reviews
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless procurement operations
Required Attributes:
- Proven experience in sourcing, vendor development, and negotiations
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, documentation, and compliance
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical preferred)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered
- Additional certifications in Supply Chain Management / Procurement will be an added advantage
