Key Requirements (Must-Have)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in raw material sourcing of liquid bulk chemicals (e.g., petroleum, oil, diesel, solvents, paints, fertilizers)
- Prior experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
- Strong expertise in vendor management and commercial negotiations
Role Overview
We are seeking a procurement professional responsible for
raw material sourcing of liquid chemicals, ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and strong supplier partnerships. The role requires strategic sourcing capabilities, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including supplier identification, evaluation, and negotiations
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted supply
- Drive cost optimization, lead time reduction, and service improvements
- Conduct market analysis and supply risk assessments
- Identify and develop alternate raw material sources in coordination with R&D
- Monitor supplier performance and manage long-term partnerships
- Handle pricing, contracts, and commercial negotiations
- Maintain accurate MIS reporting and cost tracking
- Ensure availability of raw materials while minimizing stock-out risks
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
Education & Experience
- B.Tech / B.E in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Candidates from petrochemical or carbon manufacturing industries preferred
- Total experience: 4-7 years
