Role Overview
As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing mechanical components and spare parts specifically for Crushing and Mining machinery (e.g., Jaw/Cone Crushers, Screeners, Conveyors). Your technical background will be critical in ensuring that the quality of castings, forgings, and machined components meets the rigorous demands of the mining industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify and onboard manufacturers for high-wear parts like Mantle & Concave liners, Jaw plates, Bearings, and Gearboxes.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities based on technical audits, foundry standards, and machining precision.
- Negotiate pricing and credit terms while maintaining high-quality standards.
2. Technical Evaluation
- Interpret Technical Drawings (2D/3D) and Material Test Certificates (MTC).
- Ensure parts meet metallurgical specifications (e.g., High Manganese steel, Chrome-moly, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Quality Control team to handle technical deviations or rejections.
3. Supply Chain & Inventory Control
- Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle: PR → PO → Logistics → Payment.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure critical "Fast-Moving" spares are always in stock.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to mine sites or warehouses.
4. Market Intelligence & Cost Optimization
- Track raw material price trends (Scrap, Ferro-alloys, Steel) to negotiate better rates.
- Identify opportunities for Value Engineering to reduce costs without compromising part life.
Candidate Profile (Requirements)
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes like Casting, Forging, Heat Treatment, and CNC Machining.
- Experience: 3–4 years in procurement, ideally within the Mining, Construction Equipment (CE), or Heavy Engineering sectors.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Tally) and MS Excel. Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
