Job Description – Procurement Engineer
Department: Contracts & Procurement

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to support the Contract Manager in sourcing materials and services, vendor management, and technical-commercial evaluations. Ideal for candidates with an engineering background and interest in procurement and contract processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing procurement plans as per project schedules and contract requirements.
- Prepare & issue RFQs, evaluate bids, and support vendor selection.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure accurate technical specifications.
- Manage vendor communication and ensure compliance to contract terms.
- Prepare comparative statements, coordinate approvals, and support purchase order drafting.
- Monitor supplier performance, material delivery schedules, and resolve issues.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and procurement strategy development.
- Coordinate with Accounts for timely processing of purchase-related payments.
- Prepare weekly/monthly MIS and procurement reports.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain (Steel industry is a must).
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) desirable.
- Strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and negotiation skills.
- Good communication and coordination ability.
