Job Description
Head – Procurement Assurance
Location: Ahmedabad
Role Purpose
The Head – Procurement Assurance will establish and lead an independent procurement assurance function for the Arvind Group. The role will be responsible for driving transparency, governance, risk management, and control effectiveness across the end-to-end procurement ecosystem. The mandate of the role is to provide the Promoters with independent visibility into procurement risks, spend governance, policy adherence, process efficiency, and transaction integrity across group businesses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Risk & Assurance
- Develop and implement a dynamic procurement risk assessment framework across group entities
- Identify key procurement, vendor, pricing, compliance, and operational risks
- Conduct continuous monitoring of high-risk procurement categories and transactions
- Drive proactive fraud detection and prevention mechanisms
2. Spend Visibility & Analytics
- Establish enterprise-wide spend visibility and analytics dashboards
- Monitor spend patterns, vendor concentration, maverick buying, savings leakage, and compliance deviations
- Provide leadership with actionable procurement intelligence and insights
- Enable data-driven procurement governance
3. Policy & Process Governance
- Design and standardize procurement policies, SOPs, delegation matrices, and control frameworks
- Ensure harmonization of procurement processes across businesses and entities
- Drive best-in-class procurement governance aligned with business objectives
- Periodically review and strengthen procurement controls and operating procedures
4. Controls Configuration & Enablement
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Internal Audit, and Technology teams to embed preventive and detective controls within ERP and procurement systems
- Ensure effective configuration of approval workflows, maker-checker controls, vendor onboarding controls, and contract compliance mechanisms
- Enable automation-led assurance and control monitoring
5. Real-Time Transaction Audit
- Build mechanisms for near real-time transaction monitoring and audit
- Review procurement transactions for policy adherence, commercial prudence, and control compliance
- Highlight exceptions, leakages, and governance gaps to leadership
- Ensure timely closure and remediation of audit observations
6. Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Present periodic assurance reviews and risk dashboards to Promoters and senior leadership
- Partner with business leaders to drive governance without impacting agility
- Lead special investigations and procurement reviews, as required
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and compliance across procurement teams
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- MBA / CA / ICWA / Engineering from a reputed institution
- Additional certifications in Procurement, Risk, Audit, or Compliance preferred
Experience
- 15–20 years of experience across Procurement, Procurement Governance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Assurance functions
- Strong exposure to large-scale manufacturing or diversified business environments
- Experience in procurement transformation, GCC/shared services setup, or enterprise controls will be preferred
