Position: Process Safety
Job Description
- Responsible for all Process Safety activities and deliverables of an assigned proposal or project, including all technical contents discussed/transmitted with/to Client and Vendors.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Understand client’s Technical Safety requirements during a proposal phase and lead the Process Safety engineering team in developing the required Process Safety documentation to cost the project.
- Attend bid clarification meetings.
- Develop Technical Requisitions (TRs) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) of third-party Process Safety studies/ Process Safety Equipment supply for costing estimation.
- Compile / Reviewengineering hours estimations.
- Ensure the project is executed safely, following SLB standards, International standards and Client Standards & specifications, as applicable.
- Process Safety Activities, Equipment and Studies to be delivered within Budget and Schedule.
- Understand and communicate Process Safety Scope to Project Engineering to account for specific requirements.
- Attend kick off meetings and design review meetings with Client, avoiding scope creep.
- Develop the Process Safety scope of work, Project Safety Reviews, execution plan and schedule of Process Safety Activities.
- Lead Process Safety activities during projects and support different engineering disciplines to complete their design. • Control and coordinate activities within the project.
- Provide Process safety inputs to other engineering disciplines, as required.
- Check and approve the relevant Process Safety documents and work of 3rd parties including equipment vendors, as required.
- Create the Technical Requisition (TRs) and scope of work of the HSE studies to be subcontracted to 3rd parties and the safety equipment to be supplied for the project, review offers, raise Technical Queries (TQs), prepare TBEs, and review 3rd parties / vendors’ documentation
- Perform Weekly review of Process Safety Progress on a project / projects, identify resource requirement and update forecasts and develop recovery plans, as required
- Review deliverables of other disciplines for Safety aspects
- Work with the other disciplines’ leads to check the safety compliance in other disciplines’ designs
- Provide all necessary inputs/approvals related to Project Technical or Commercial Variation Order Requests (VORs) or Management of Change (MOC)
- Mentor other junior Process Safety engineers and provide training to others as required
Qualifications and Experience:
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
Experience:
- 10+ years Industry experience.
- Prior work experience in Production.
- Facility Engineering/ Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)/ Engineering Contractors.
- Ability to identify priorities during Proposal/ Project execution.
- Fluent in managing and evaluating the applicability of technical safety/risk studies in projects.
- Capability to manage technical discussions with clients and represent SLB in technical presentation to clients/ vendors.
- Possess a high degree of initiative in StandardizationExpertise:
Expertise:
- Familiar with Industry Standards and codes such as API, NFPA, NEC, IEC, ISO etc.
- Experience in Participation of PHA (HAZID/HAZOP/ SIL/LOPA) and Managing safety studies
- Strong Technical knowledge of Fire protection, F&G detection, HAC classification, Consequence modelling, QRA, FERA, Radiation and Dispersion studies
- Familiar with Project HSE/ Safety Philosophies, Plans, Studies, Calculations, Drawings and Layout
