Job Description:
We are seeking a Process Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer to support engineering design and project execution for Oil & Gas, refinery, petrochemical, and industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for process safety studies, hazard identification, risk assessment, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards and project specifications.
Key responsibilities:-
- Perform process safety and loss prevention engineering activities across FEED and detailed engineering projects.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessments, and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA).
- Prepare and review process safety philosophies, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Review P&IDs, plot plans, equipment layouts, and engineering deliverables for safety compliance.
- Perform or coordinate fire and gas detection, fire protection, firewater demand, and hazardous area classification studies.
- Conduct consequence analysis for fire, explosion, and toxic gas dispersion, as applicable.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify hazards and implement risk mitigation measures.
- Track safety study recommendations and ensure timely closure of action items.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including IEC 61511, IEC 61508, NFPA, API, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:-
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant experience in process safety and loss prevention within Oil & Gas, EPC, refinery, or petrochemical projects.
- Knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, SIL, fire protection, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with tools such as PHAST, SAFETI, or equivalent software is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
Preferred Experience: FEED, detailed engineering, LNG, offshore, gas processing, refinery, and petrochemical projects.
