GEL is setting up a greenfield Integrated Steel Plant at Bhadrawati (Chandrapur) in the state of Maharashtra, having capacity of 0.4 MTPA finished steel, along with 1.2 MTPA Iron Ore Pellet Plant, 65000 NM3/Hr of Syn Gas based on Coal Gasification Technology, and other auxiliary units along with these capacities.
Positions Required:
1. Process Engineer (Manager/AGM)
Experience: 5+ years in NG/syngas-based DRI or similar process industry
Qualification: B.Tech (Chemical / Metallurgical Engineering)
Role: Process design, monitoring, and optimization of DRI plant Project
- Prepare and review - Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Heat & Material Balance (H&MB)
- Handle process design of Heater system, Shaft furnace operation, Syn Gas circuit (CO, H₂, CO₂ control), Co2 removal system
- Optimize plant performance Improve metallization (%), Control carbon (%), Reduce gas consumption
- Prepare: Equipment datasheets (compressor, blower, heater), Process design documents, Control philosophy
- Equipment sizing: Heat exchangers, Reactors, Gas treatment systems
- Troubleshooting - Identify process issues, Improve plant efficiency
- Safety - Participate in HAZOP / safety studies, Ensure safe gas handling (H₂, CO)
- Support - Plant commissioning & startup, Performance testing
Key Skills
- Knowledge of - Gas-based DRI process (MIDREX / ENERGIRON), Reformer/Heater & shaft furnace, Gas treatment system
- Understanding of – Thermodynamics, Heat & mass balance
Preferred
- Experience in - DRI commissioning, Reformer/Heater operation, Hydrogen-based DRI (added advantage)
2. Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET)
Qualification: B.Tech (Chemical / Metallurgical Engineering)
Experience: Fresher / 0–1 year
Role: Support project activities, coordination with Process Engineer
