Job Description: PCB Design Engineer
Experience: 5+ Yrs
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled PCB Design Engineer with strong hands-on experience in designing high-performance PCBs for IoT and embedded wireless products. The role focuses on PCB layout, signal integrity, and collaboration with RF and hardware teams to ensure reliable and optimized product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop multi-layer PCB layouts for IoT/embedded systems, including RF-integrated boards.
- Collaborate closely with RF and hardware engineers to implement optimized PCB designs for 2.4 GHz and sub-GHz applications.
- Perform component placement, routing, and stack-up design considering signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC requirements.
- Implement controlled impedance routing and proper grounding techniques for RF and high-speed signals.
- Support schematic reviews and translate schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts.
- Optimize PCB designs for performance, manufacturability (DFM), and testability (DFT).
- Work on RF-aware PCB layout practices including impedance matching, transmission lines, and minimal signal loss.
- Assist in debugging and resolving hardware issues related to PCB design.
- Coordinate with fabrication and assembly vendors for PCB manufacturing and bring-up support.
- Prepare PCB documentation including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Gerber files.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of PCB design fundamentals including multi-layer stack-up, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of RF PCB design concepts such as impedance control, grounding, and routing.
- Experience working with high-frequency or mixed-signal PCBs is a plus.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, DFM/DFT guidelines, and PCB fabrication standards.
- Ability to interpret schematics and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Exposure to debugging and validation of hardware prototypes.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on RF-integrated boards (2.4 GHz / sub-GHz).
- Understanding of antenna layout constraints and RF-sensitive routing.
- Basic exposure to RF tools or lab measurements (VNA, spectrum analyzer).
