About The Role
The Print Production Specialist at P&G plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of print projects across various brands and regions. This position involves managing technical specifications, coordinating with design and production teams, and overseeing the quality and consistency of printed materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining printer specifications, preparing preflight and feasibility reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to address any issues that arise during the printing process. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of design, technology, and manufacturing, ensuring that all printed outputs meet brand standards, technical requirements, and budget constraints. The Print Production Specialist will also lead efforts to improve print quality and support the qualification of new printers, contributing to the overall excellence of P&G’s visual and packaging standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Print and Packaging, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Graphic Design and Print Production, preferably within the consumer goods industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with color management tools.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Creative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas for artwork improvements and enhancements.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive printer specifications, including ICC profiles and technical requirements for various printing technologies.
- Develop and update ‘Design Execution FFU Briefs’ that detail printer capabilities, regional requirements, budget considerations, and plant limitations.
- Prepare and review preflight and print feasibility reports to ensure designs are print-ready and align with technical specifications.
- Analyze and verify design firm color targets to ensure compatibility with printing capabilities and brand standards.
- Conduct Print Production Meetings to discuss timelines, updates, and resolve issues related to printing processes.
- Provide solutions to print feasibility challenges to ensure high-quality output.
- Collaborate with design teams during the initial briefing to clarify executional considerations.
- Coordinate print trial dates and communicate schedules to ensure readiness and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee production runs, whether in-person or virtual, to monitor quality and address any emerging issues.
- Ensure final printed materials meet budget and FFU (Finished Format Unit) requirements.
- Partner with Design, Color, Graphic Specialists, and Delivery teams to uphold print standards and execution excellence.
- Support printer qualification processes in collaboration with the Manufacturing and Packaging Development teams.
- Lead initiatives to improve print quality through the implementation of quality management protocols and periodic store checks.
- Liaise with Purchasing to evaluate and select vendors capable of supporting high standards of print quality and reliability.
