Role Overview
We are looking for a senior AI professional to join ARCHLE Labs as Principal AI Scientist, Health AI, as part of the Founder’s Team.
This is a high-ownership role for someone with strong experience in AI and ML, preferably with prior work in healthcare, medical AI, clinical AI, digital health, diagnostics, or related domains.
The role will involve working closely with the founders on AI strategy, product direction, research initiatives, technical roadmap, and long-term intellectual property creation.
This is not a conventional employee role. We are looking for someone who can think and operate like a core member of the founding team, take ownership of critical AI initiatives, and contribute to building the organisation over the long term.
ARCHLE Labs is currently early-stage and pre-revenue. This opportunity is best suited for someone aligned with long-term value creation and open to an ESOP-led compensation structure.
Why This Role Matters
Healthcare continues to face significant challenges in access, quality, manpower availability, and timely decision-making. Globally, billions of people still do not have full access to essential health services, and the World Health Organization has projected a major shortage of healthcare workers by 2030. In India, rural and underserved regions continue to face shortages of specialists and timely healthcare access.
ARCHLE Labs is working to address these challenges by building AI-enabled healthcare solutions that support better decision-making, early identification of risks, improved patient workflows, and scalable care delivery.
The person joining this role will help define how AI is used within the organisation and how it can create meaningful clinical, operational, and public health impact.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work directly with the founders and contribute to the company’s AI and health-tech strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Define and guide the AI strategy for ARCHLE Labs
Work closely with the founders on product, research, and technology decisions
Identify healthcare problems where AI can create practical and measurable value
Build and evaluate AI systems for real-world healthcare use cases
Convert early ideas into structured experiments, prototypes, and scalable solutions
Support the development of clinically relevant, reliable, and responsible AI systems
Create frameworks for model evaluation, accuracy, safety, reliability, explainability, and usability
Work with engineering, product, clinical, and business teams to move AI initiatives from concept to implementation
Contribute to the company’s technical roadmap and long-term AI capabilities
Support pilots, partnerships, research collaborations, and strategic initiatives
Contribute to invention disclosures, patents, research outputs, technical documentation, and other intellectual property assets
Participate in leadership discussions related to product direction, technology positioning, and company growth
Required Experience and Skills
Minimum 7+ years of experience in AI, ML, applied AI, data science, AI research, or related fields
Prior experience in health AI, clinical AI, medical AI, digital health, diagnostics, hospital technology, biomedical AI, or healthcare data systems
Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern AI/ML frameworks
Experience developing AI systems beyond proof-of-concept stage
Strong understanding of model evaluation, experimentation, deployment, and performance monitoring
Ability to work with real-world, incomplete, sensitive, or complex healthcare data
Understanding of healthcare workflows, clinical relevance, patient safety, and responsible AI practices
Ability to work in an early-stage environment with limited structure and evolving priorities
Strong problem-solving ability and first-principles thinking
Ability to communicate effectively with founders, clinicians, engineers, partners, and external stakeholders
High ownership, accountability, integrity, and long-term commitment

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Biology, or a related field
Prior experience in a health-tech startup, AI-first company, diagnostics company, medical device company, hospital technology company, or clinical AI research group
Experience working with clinicians, hospitals, public health systems, research institutions, or regulated healthcare environments
Publications, patents, deployed AI products, clinical AI projects, or a strong technical portfolio

External Representation and IP Contribution
As part of the Founder’s Team, the selected candidate may represent ARCHLE Labs at healthcare, AI, medical technology, startup, and public health forums.
This may include participating in conferences, panels, academic discussions, innovation platforms, and industry events. The candidate may also contribute to patents, invention disclosures, research outputs, white papers, publications, technical notes, and clinical or technical documentation.
This role provides the opportunity to contribute not only to product development, but also to the organisation’s intellectual property, reputation, and long-term positioning in the healthcare AI space.

Compensation and Ownership
ARCHLE Labs is currently an early-stage, pre-revenue startup.
Remuneration will be primarily through ESOPs and long-term ownership, with fixed compensation discussed based on the candidate’s profile, expectations, and alignment with the company’s stage.
The role is best suited for someone who understands the value of early ownership and is interested in building long-term wealth through meaningful contribution to the company’s growth.
