THE ROLE
We are seeking a Principal-level engineer to lead the design and evolution of our multi-tenant SaaS platform, backend architecture, and AI-native infrastructure.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where you will operate across system design, data architecture, security, and AI integration. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and build systems that scale across enterprise customers.
You’ll work in a polyglot environment (Go, TypeScript, Python), architecting distributed systems powered by PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and Kubernetes on Azure—while embedding AI deeply into the product experience.
NOTE: This will be a really difficult role where you'll have to learn and implement the latest evolving AI technologies. Please do NOT apply for this role if you:

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect and scale a secure, multi-tenant SaaS platform, ensuring strong tenant isolation, performance, and reliability
- Lead backend system design and development across Go, Python, GraphQL, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization
- Drive AI-native capabilities, building agent systems, Knowledge graphs and leveraging tools like LangChain and modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot)
- Own security architecture, implementing best practices across authentication, authorization, and enterprise-grade data protection
- Design and optimize data pipelines, integrating with DevOps ecosystems (GitHub, GitLab, Jira, etc.) and supporting analytics workloads
- Lead cloud infrastructure and observability, using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, and tools like OpenTelemetry and ClickHouse
- Mentor engineers and set technical direction, raising the bar on architecture, code quality, and execution
MUST HAVE
- 5+ years of backend or distributed systems engineering experience
- Proven experience architecting and scaling SaaS platforms (multi-tenant systems required)
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python (multiple preferred)
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL (query planning, indexing, performance tuning, large-scale data modeling)
- Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and API architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Demonstrated experience in application security:
- Auth (OAuth2, OIDC), RBAC/ABAC
- Secure API design and data protection
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs and DevOps ecosystems
- Strong Git workflows, CI/CD experience, and engineering best practices
- Ability to operate with high ownership in a fast-moving startup environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AI/ML libraries and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Familiarity with Operations & infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Understanding DevOps, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
