Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovation-driven Principal R&D Scientist to lead research, product development, and technical innovation in industrial paints and high-temperature coating systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise, leadership capability, and hands-on formulation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead R&D initiatives in industrial paints and high-temperature coating technologies
- Develop and optimize formulations for heat-resistant, ceramic, and specialty coatings
- Drive product innovation from concept to commercialization
- Conduct performance testing, validation, and field trials
- Mentor and guide junior R&D team members
- Collaborate with production, quality, and marketing teams for scale-up and technical support
- Stay updated with global trends, raw material advancements, and regulatory developments
- Support customer technical discussions and troubleshooting when required
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in industrial paints and coatings
- Strong exposure to high-temperature paints and coatings
- Expertise in formulation chemistry testing, binders, fillers, and additives
- Knowledge of ceramic coatings, inorganic systems, and thermal barrier technologies preferred
- Experience in scaling lab formulations to plant production
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualification
- M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry
Location & Travel
- Based at Manpada, Thane
- Candidates residing in Thane or nearby areas preferred
- Occasional travel as required for trials, customer meetings, or vendor interactions
