Role Description The Principal (Psychology stream) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for overseeing academic and administrative functions related to the psychology programs. This role includes guiding curriculum development, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning standards, and fostering a student-centered culture that promotes holistic development and ethical practice. The Principal will lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluation, as well as coordinate academic timetables, examinations, and compliance with university and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve collaborating with management, representing the psychology stream in institutional planning, promoting research and community outreach initiatives, and maintaining transparent communication with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic qualifications in Psychology (preferably Ph.D. in Psychology or related field) from a recognized university.
- Proven experience in academic leadership or administration in higher education, ideally as Head of Department, Vice Principal, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of psychology curricula, pedagogy, and assessment methods aligned with university and regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability in faculty management, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Experience in academic planning, accreditation processes, and compliance with university and statutory bodies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, faculty, and institutional leadership.
- Ability to promote research, seminars, workshops, and community engagement activities in the psychology stream.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to ethical practices and student welfare.
- Comfort with basic educational technologies, learning management systems, and data-driven academic reporting.
- Prior experience in an affiliated college or university setup in India will be an added advantage.
