How You'll Help Us Connect The World
We are seeking a highly experienced
Principal Engineer, AI Engineering to lead the design and delivery of AI-powered automation systems across our 4G/5G network stack. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a seasoned engineer who can bridge deep telecom domain expertise with modern AI/LLM capabilities to transform how we debug, test, validate, and operate complex RAN infrastructure. You will build intelligent systems that turn unstructured engineering data—logs, PCAPs, core dumps, and protocol traces—into actionable insights and automated diagnostics, dramatically accelerating engineering velocity and product quality. This role is based in
Bangalore, India.
You Will Make An Impact By
- Building AI-assisted log analysis systems that leverage structured knowledge bases to pinpoint root causes at the file: line level, generating GDB breakpoints, and recommending fixes from raw gNB/eNB logs.
- Developing AI-based RCA agents for automated analysis of MAC, Layer3/Application, and PCAP traces across the 4G/5G protocol stack.
- Building crash and core dump analysis pipelines that process high volumes of field cores, deduplicating issues, and generating structured defect reports.
- Designing AI-driven unit test generation pipelines using LLM-based and Copilot agent-based workflows to improve code coverage and edge-case discovery on every PR.
- Engineering end-to-end CI pipelines integrating code coverage, static analysis (Coverity), and LLM-generated unit tests for continuous validation.
- Developing DU and UE simulators with AI-assisted test case generation, enabling simulation of 1000+ UEs for CU stress testing and negative scenario coverage.
- Designing robust test scenarios for large-scale overnight CI execution with seamless Jenkins integration.
- Architecting and maintaining Python-based automation frameworks for 5G/LTE/Core Network end-to-end workflows.
- Automating AWS resource orchestration, hardware environment bring-up, and CLI-driven configuration management across distributed nodes.
- Building system-level telemetry capture, throughput automation (IPERF), KPI visualization (packet loss, latency, throughput), and crash detection mechanisms.
- Developing AI-powered CLI tools for automated JIRA analysis, correlating code, git history, and issuing data to identify root causes and recommend fixes.
- Creating scalable tooling for OEM artifact generation, structured reporting, and multi-node log parsing and correlation.
Required Qualifications For Consideration
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in telecom software engineering, with deep expertise in 4G LTE and 5G NR protocol stacks.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale automation frameworks in a telecom/RAN environment.
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agent architectures.
- Proficiency with AI/LLM frameworks and tools such as LangGraph, OpenAI API (or equivalent), and vector databases (FAISS, Chroma).
- Experience applying AI to engineering workflows: automated debugging, root-cause analysis, test generation, or code analysis.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
- Deep understanding of 4G/5G RAN architecture: CU, DU, RU, Core Network (EPC/5GC), and their interfaces (S1AP, NGAP, F1AP, X2AP, Xn).
- Experience with protocol analysis and PCAP/Wireshark-based debugging of RRC, NAS, MAC, and signaling procedures.
- Familiarity with UE simulators (e.g., Amarisoft), multi-vendor UE management, and SAS/CBRS systems.
- Expert-level Python programming with experience building production-grade automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tooling (Jenkins), static analysis (Coverity), and code coverage frameworks.
- Experience with C/C++ for systems-level debugging and integration.
- Hands-on experience with AWS resource orchestration and cloud-based test infrastructure.
You Will Excite Us If You Have
- Experience with O-RAN architecture and open interface specifications.
- Contributed to AI/ML tooling or internal developer platforms at scale.
- Familiarity with NMS/GUI-based network management automation.
- Knowledge of 3G/LTE dual-mode integration and BSP-level configuration.
