Role: Functional Consultant - Oracle EBS Apps Technical Lead
Years of Exp: 7 - 10 Years
Location: Hyderabad || Chennai || Bangalore
Work Mode: Hybrid
Availability: Immediate
Role Summary
Senior Oracle EBS technical developer to build, test and support the Romanian SAF-T (D406) extract from Oracle E-Business Suite, covering the monthly/quarterly General file, the annual Assets file, and the on-request Stocks file, through to a file that passes ANAF's DUK Integrator validator.
Essential Technical Skills
Oracle SQL (advanced)
- Analytic functions, complex joins across GL/AP/AR/FA/INV
- Native XML generation:
- Query tuning against high-volume transactional tables; explain plans, indexing strategy, partitioning awareness. SAF-T files routinely run to hundreds of MB, so performance is not a nice-to-have
PL/SQL (advanced)
- Packaged procedures registered as concurrent programs
- Bulk Collect, FORALL, ref cursors, pipelined functions
- Staging-table architecture (extract → stage → validate → generate), restartability, error logging
- utl_file and large CLOB/file handling
BI Publisher / XML Publisher in EBS
- Data templates (SQL-driven XML data definitions, group hierarchies, lexical parameters) — this matters more than RTF layout skills here
- eText and XSL-FO templates; understanding when BIP is the wrong tool for a very large XML and a PL/SQL generator is better
- Scalable mode, XML output size limits, bursting, template registration via XML Publisher Administrator
EBS applications technical (AOL/FND)
- Concurrent programs, executables, value sets, request sets, profile options
- Multi-org / MOAC handling, ledger and legal entity setup
- Custom top / CEMLI standards, patching and instance refresh implications
EBS data model knowledge — must be able to navigate without hand-holding:
- GL
- AP
- AR:
- FA:
- INV:
- E-Business Tax:
XML and schema work
- Reading and working directly against the ANAF XSD (SAF-T schema 2.0): namespaces, strict element sequencing, data types, cardinality
- Validating generated XML against the XSD outside EBS; interpreting validator errors
- XSLT useful for post-transformation
Typical responsibilities
- Gap analysis between the ANAF schema and available EBS data; identifying where data simply isn't captured today
- Designing and building the extract: staging model, mapping tables, generation, validation
- Building maintainable mapping tables so finance can update account and tax code mappings without a code change
- Getting files through DUKIntegrator cleanly and resolving validator errors
- Performance tuning to fit the extract inside the month-end window
- SIT/UAT support, reconciliation to TB and VAT returns, documentation and handover
- Ongoing support against a hard monthly deadline (last calendar day of the month following the period)
