Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for pharmacy programs
- Ensure high standards in teaching, learning, and evaluation.
- Promote research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
- Develop and update curriculum as per regulatory requirements.
2. Administration & Governance
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department.
- Lead faculty recruitment, development, and performance evaluation.
- Prepare budgets and manage financial resources effectively.
- Maintain discipline and institutional culture.
3. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with norms of:
- Pharmacy Council of India
- All India Council for Technical Education
- University Grants Commission
- Coordinate inspections, approvals, and accreditations.
4. Student Development
- Monitor student performance, mentoring, and discipline.
- Promote extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
- Facilitate placements, internships, and industry exposure.
5. Industry & Institutional Collaboration
- Establish partnerships with pharmaceutical industries and hospitals.
- Organize seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Encourage consultancy and collaborative research projects.
6. Quality Assurance
- Implement quality standards such as NAAC/NBA accreditation.
- Ensure continuous improvement in academic and administrative processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. in pharmacy.
- Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of teaching/research experience. A strong record of teaching experience at the college/university level, as well as an established research or artistic practice. At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (HOD/Dean/Principal).
- Research and Creative Practice: A proven ability to conduct research, with a portfolio of publications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively teach, advise, and interact with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong organizational and leadership abilities to contribute to departmental goals, engage in faculty governance, and collaborate across disciplines.
