Role Description The Principal is a full-time, remote instructional and operational leader responsible for guiding Alphabit School’s academic vision and day-to-day virtual school operations. This role oversees curriculum implementation, teaching quality, and student support to ensure a rigorous and engaging online learning experience. The Principal will lead and coach educators, set clear expectations, review performance data, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and learner-centered practices. Daily responsibilities include monitoring student outcomes, partnering with families, resolving escalated concerns, and ensuring alignment with academic standards and regulatory requirements. The Principal will also collaborate with product, technology, and support teams to refine the online platform, enhance instructional resources, and drive strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in school leadership or academic administration, with a track record of overseeing curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes in K–12 or similar settings.
- Strong capabilities in educational strategy, including setting academic goals, implementing data-informed improvement plans, and maintaining alignment with state or national standards.
- Demonstrated skill in leading and developing educators, including coaching, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive professional culture.
- Experience with online or blended learning environments, educational technology platforms, and virtual classroom best practices.
- Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills for working effectively with students, families, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to manage remote operations, including scheduling, compliance tracking, and coordination across distributed teams and time zones.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and personalized learning, with the ability to support diverse learners and promote accessible education for all.
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred; relevant certification or licensure in school leadership is an advantage.
