Job Title: Principal Associate – IBC & Banking Litigation
Organization: IndiaLaw LLP
Location: Mumbai (Candidates from Mumbai are preferred)
About the Role:
IndiaLaw LLP is seeking an experienced and driven Principal Associate to join its IBC and Banking Litigation team. The role involves handling end-to-end litigation matters under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), banking disputes, and actively contributing to business development and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation & Advisory
- Handle matters related to Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), including CIRP, liquidation, and restructuring.
- Represent clients before NCLT, NCLAT, DRT, DRAT, and High Courts.
- Draft pleadings, applications, replies, rejoinders, and legal opinions.
- Develop case strategies and manage litigation timelines effectively.
Client Coordination
- Client coordination
- Provide timely updates and strategic legal advice.
- Manage client expectations and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Business Development
- Support end-to-end business development initiatives.
- Identify new opportunities with banks, financial institutions, and corporates.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and expand the firm’s portfolio.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor junior associates.
- Review work, provide guidance, and ensure quality control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm.
Qualifications & Experience:
- LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
- 6–10 years of experience in IBC and banking litigation.
- Strong exposure to proceedings before NCLT/NCLAT and DRT forums.
- Demonstrated experience in client handling and business development.
- Excellent drafting, research, and advocacy skills.
