JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Position Overview
The Principal, NIMS School of Law, will serve as the academic and administrative head of the School, responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving excellence in teaching, research, and institutional development. The role demands a dynamic, young, and visionary leader with strong academic credentials and proven experience in higher education.
2. Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university
- 15–18 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration in a university or reputed law institution
- Strong record of publications in UGC‑CARE / Scopus / peer‑reviewed journals
- Demonstrated experience in NAAC/NIRF processes, curriculum design, and academic governance
- Familiarity with Bar Council of India (BCI) norms and legal education standards
3. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to the School of Law
- Ensure compliance with BCI, UGC, NAAC, NIRF, and other regulatory frameworks
- Lead curriculum development, academic planning, and implementation of outcome‑based education
- Promote a culture of research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, and professional development
- Strengthen industry, legal fraternity, and institutional partnerships
- Supervise admissions, examinations, academic operations, and student engagement activities
- Drive initiatives to enhance the School’s visibility, rankings, and academic reputation
- Represent the School in university committees and external academic forums
- Maintain discipline, ethical standards, and a student‑centric academic environment
