Overview:
Registered Nurse - RN ED
Salary Range: $1,272.60 – $1,928.88 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12 hour) schedule; equivalent to $35.35 – $53.58 per hour.

Responsibilities:
- Delivers safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provides direct patient care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice
- Directs and guides patient/family education
- Oversees and coordinates activities of other nursing personnel
- Maintains professional nursing standards in Telemetry
- Is directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department
- Communicates promptly with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptoms
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient status or treatment response
- Demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulations
- Reports suspected child and adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
6. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
7. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
3. Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain. Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.
