Role 3: Prime Billing Manager

Position
Role summary:
The Prime Billing Manager leads a team of analysts to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant monthly billing cycles per regulations. This role directs AR collections, manages billing exceptions/disputes, and drives process efficiency and improvements across the billing function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 5 billing analysts, including hiring, training, performance management and development.
- Oversee all monthly billing, collections and support workstreams ensuring the timely, accurate and quality delivery of tasks and documentation and adherence to regulatory controls.
- Manage escalations from clients, internal stakeholders and team members related to billing issues.
- Drive process efficiency and improvements through automation, standardization and best practices.
- Ensure SOX compliance and maintain documentation standards for all billing processes.
- Coordinate with Finance, Controllership, Legal and Compliance teams on billing policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for billing and collections activities.
- Lead initiatives to improve billing accuracy, reduce disputes and accelerate collections.
- Serve as primary point of contact for complex billing matters and executive escalations.
- Prepare management reports and presentations on billing performance and trends.
- Support audit requests and regulatory examinations related to billing function.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years experience in billing, accounts receivable, or accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep expertise in billing operations, revenue recognition and accounts receivable management.
- Strong understanding of SOX controls and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience managing monthly close processes and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, or institutional financial services.
- Knowledge of institutional billing models and fee structures.
- Experience implementing billing automation and system improvements.
- Project management certification or experience.
- CPA or relevant accounting certification.
