About the role

Job Overview

To work closely with Sr. Manager – Direct Materials and play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day execution of direct material work streams and operational issue resolution.

  • Pretium’s North America Total Direct Material Supply Base - ~$300M, annual buy
    • Develop category strategy and supply base through constructive, value add management, and demonstrated continuous improvement of key supply base performance attributes. Quantify and manage through a Total Cost of Ownership,
      • Operational performance (energy efficiency, throughput, etc…)
      • Quality
      • Delivery
      • Customer Service
    • Deliver FY26 budget procurement savings and TCO value creation, year over year through category management of NA direct materials (PET, Olefins, PCR, Colorants etc.) spend
    • Provide North America Procurement leadership and execution in support of daily operational procurement deliverables
    • Identify and mitigate Direct Materials supply base risk on behalf of Pretium.

Principal Accountabilities

Strategy Development & Execution

  • Support development of the North America Direct Material Procurement Strategy based on continuously changing market needs and drivers.
  • Define and deliver NA direct material execution plan to defined timing and objectives

Direct Material Procurement Management

  • Lead and support direct material categories (PET, Olefins, Colorants, PCR, Additives etc.) in the delivery of FY26 year over year budget savings target
    • Indirect leadership across all project leaders from procurement, operations, supply chain and finance
    • Savings data base management (direct input) and reporting
    • Executive reporting; status and overall health of category
  • Collaborate with Business Analyst and Finance team members to validate project savings

Procurement Operations Management

  • Manage quality claim closures with supply base in alignment with Framework agreements
  • Manage overall North America Spot buying process in alignment with the monthly needs of the Supply Chain Organization/Volume Plan
  • Lead and manage delivery of required collateral and messaging is support of monthly SIOP resin planning meeting, including….
    • Quality claim status
    • NA resin market driver summary
    • NA pricing forecast
    • Summary and status of NA Strategic Action List
    • Summary of change/implication to NA Strategy

Supplier Development and Relations

  • Lead, develop and manage the supply base to support Pretium NA business strategy and priorities
  • Own key supplier relationships at the Director and Manager levels, across sales, engineering, and customer service organizations
    • Implement and lead quarterly supplier development review process and scorecards with the following required deliverables:
      • Supplier Continuous Improvement Plans for all NA suppliers with quantified performance improvement across ….
        • Quality
        • Delivery
        • Operational performance (energy efficiency, throughput, etc..)
        • Customer service
        • Measure through Total Cost of Ownership
      • Supplier technology roadmap and partnership to align with NA product strategy
      • Define and report on Supply Base health on a quarterly basis.
        • Visit all strategic suppliers regularly to assess risk against delivery to Pretium’s direct material strategy
          • Define and implement risk mitigation plans as required to protect Pretium’s interest

Financial Planning

  • Build and validate savings pipeline and financial models in support of NA strategy and procurement direct material leadership; including
    • Scenario plans (best case, worst case and most likely case)
    • Sensitivity analysis to evaluate alternative models
    • Savings definition on a cpp basis, DPO and Cash Improvements

Market Pricing

  • Compile and report monthly pricing for North America suppliers, by Pretium’s plant location to key stakeholder organizations (Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain)
  • Track and report quarterly, NA pricing versus published market indices. Define and implement meet comp gap closure plans as required.
    • Demonstrate and own resin pricing health for the NA market report quarterly

  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team in delivery of category strategy/objectives
  • Develop trust, collaboration and partnership with the key stakeholders to balance business priorities with value delivery to Procurement and Pretium overall
  • Develop supplier relationships in a way that encourages open dialogue and encourages cooperation in identifying and implementing win/win situations that add value to both organisations

Qualifications/Requirement:

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant direct material and cross functional leadership experience
  • Minimum 3 years of cross functional project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years working in a continuous improvement format, with accountability to deliver results monthly
  • Understanding of the resin industry/business fundamentals
  • Demonstrated experience working in a detailed oriented culture, with ability to personally generate business cases and track savings in support of specific projects (strong MS Excel ability)

Education and Certifications

  • University degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline. MBA preferred
  • Black/Green Belt or similar continuous improvement professional training or experience

  • Experience in the selection, preparation and execution of commercial agreements relevant to the category being sourced
  • Effective participation in cross-functional teams in a rapid pace environment and culture
  • Working knowledge of company information and data systems used by Procurement
  • Understanding of key administrative systems that impact Procurement and suppliers
  • Procurement technical skills, confirmed capability in each of the key sourcing skills
  • Mastery of tools such as: develop and implement Sourcing Strategies, Procurement Policy, RFI/RFQ, Conduct Negotiations, Benchmarking, Draft and execute commercial agreements and forecast
