With its rich 60-year history and new long-term contracts, Pressco is looking for a few key individuals who want to be a part of its continued growth and stability. We are seeking an experienced and eager part-mark technician to part-mark parts according to specifications, assist with preparing shipments, assist with outside process packaging, inventory, receiving, picking orders, and kit assembly.
Role Description
The part-mark technician position is a full-time, on-site role based in Sumner, WA. The individual in this position will be responsible for the timely and accurate part-marking of manufactured products, packaging, sealing, and preparing parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting part mark machines (VideoJet), materials, and a variety of marking and packaging equipment.
Job Duties and Essential Functions:
- Read, understand, follow, and interpret work order instructions.
- Review specification accuracy before marking. Request quality control and/or supervision support as required.
- Accurately count and verify the correct part is being worked on.
- Confirm part quantities per the work order paperwork.
- Apply part mark as required using ink-jet machine and verify first part buy-off with Quality Assurance.
- Package parts per work order and customer requirements – bag and tag, protective packaging, etc.
- Print identification tags with specific information and data.
- Record job labor ticket information.
- Report and or consult issues or errors with supervisor as required.
- Clean ink-jet machine to maintain proper flow and final marking consistency; Load ink and properly dispose of spent cartridges.
- Submit requests for supplies orders through the appropriate chain.
- In downtime periods, assist with Inventory, outside processing and/or shipping departments.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Video-Jet part mark equipment is a plus
- Experience with a PC and printer working with Windows 11, Microsoft Office suite, BarTender, Adobe, etc. (We can train on specific software, but basic computer knowledge is required)
- Familiarity with computer-based MRP data entry – Infor Visual Manufacturing is a plus, but we will train.
- Basic blueprint reading and basic math skills. High volume and accurate counting.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
- Good manual dexterity – hand, eye, and foot coordination is necessary.
- Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.
- Experience using ink-jet machine and manual stamps as needed
- High School Diploma. Preferred higher education with industry-specific training (formal or on-the-job training).
- Excellent attendance and time management.
- Standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods in a machine shop environment.
Compensation is dependent on experience and is evaluated regularly based on merit and performance. Wage range is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience. Upon completion of the probationary period, benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Long-Term Disability, 401(k), and voluntary supplemental insurance options.
