The Role
We are looking for a sharp, execution-obsessed Pre-Sales & CRM Manager to own our lead pipeline from inquiry to qualified handoff โ and ensure our sales team is closing those leads effectively. You will manage our pre-sales team, enforce Salesforce discipline across the sales organisation, and be the single owner of lead conversion metrics.
This is not a strategic or advisory role. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, data-driven execution role. If you love CRM hygiene, pipeline visibility, and coaching teams to convert better โ this is your job.
What You Will Own
Pre-Sales Team Management
- Own the daily performance of the pre-sales (lead qualification) team โ call logs, response times, qualification rate
- Set daily and weekly targets for each pre-sales executive; review against actuals every morning
- Ensure every inbound lead (Indiamart, website, WhatsApp, cold outreach) is contacted within 2 hours
- Build and enforce a qualification script so only serious, well-briefed leads reach the sales team
- Listen to calls and review chat transcripts regularly; give specific coaching feedback to the team
Salesforce CRM Ownership
- Own Salesforce as the single source of truth for all leads, opportunities, and follow-ups
- Audit Salesforce daily โ ensure pre-sales and sales team update every interaction, status change, and next action on the same day
- Build and maintain dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility on pipeline health, lead stage, and conversion rates
- Define Salesforce workflows, fields, and stages; train team members who are not using it correctly
- Identify leads that have gone cold or missed follow-up; flag and revive them immediately
Sales Team Accountability
- Hold the sales (BD) team accountable for Salesforce updates post-handoff โ every meeting, proposal, and status must be logged
- Track qualified-to-closure conversion rates by rep; identify patterns where leads are dropping off
- Run a weekly pipeline review meeting with pre-sales + sales together โ flag stuck deals, escalate where needed
- Work closely with the sales head to ensure pre-sales quality matches what closers actually need
Reporting & Insights
- Produce a weekly lead conversion report for the CEO covering: leads received, qualified, progressed, closed, and lost with reasons
- Track lead source ROI โ which channels (Indiamart, cold call, export outreach, referrals) produce the best conversion
- Maintain a lost-lead tracker and run monthly revival campaigns on unconverted but qualified opportunities
Must-Have Experience
- 4โ8 years of experience in sales operations, inside sales management, or pre-sales management in a B2B environment
- Hands-on Salesforce CRM experience โ you must be able to build reports, dashboards, and workflows yourself, not just use it casually
- Experience managing a team of 3โ10 people in a targets-driven environment
- Strong understanding of a full B2B sales funnel: inquiry โ qualification โ proposal โ negotiation โ closure
- Background in manufacturing, cosmetics, FMCG, ingredients, or related industries is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of improving lead conversion rates โ bring numbers from your last role

- Data obsessed โ you live in dashboards and are uncomfortable when numbers are not updated
- Process builder โ you see gaps and immediately write SOPs to fix them
- Team coach, not just manager โ you can identify why a pre-sales exec is underperforming and fix it
- Assertive communicator โ you can push back on a salesperson who is not updating Salesforce, without drama
- Bias for speed โ you understand that a lead not responded to in 2 hours is a lead that is half-lost
- Salesforce power user โ dashboards, workflows, custom reports, lead assignment rules
Good to Have
- Experience with Indiamart, export lead platforms, or international B2B lead generation
- Prior experience working in a cosmetic, pharma, FMCG, or industrial B2B manufacturing company
- Exposure to setting up or improving a CRM from scratch (not just inheriting a working system)
- Knowledge of sampling-to-order funnels or project-based sales cycles
