The IT Field Services Presales Consultant is responsible for supporting sales teams by designing, costing, and proposing end-to-end IT Field Services solutions. This role acts as a technical and commercial bridge between customers, sales, and delivery teams, ensuring that proposed solutions are operationally feasible, scalable, and financially viable.

Responsibilities
- Presales & Solution Design
- Engage with sales and customers to understand business, technical, and operational requirements.
- Design IT Field Services solutions, including:
- Onsite support models
- IMACD services
- Break/fix support
- Smart hands/dispatch models
- Asset lifecycle services (refresh, staging, logistics)
- Define service scope, service boundaries, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Create solution architecture, operating models, and service workflows.
- Commercial & Costing
- Build cost models and pricing for field services deals (T&M, fixed price, outcome-based).
- Estimate resource requirements (FTE, shifts, skill levels, coverage models).
- Support margin analysis and deal profitability.
- Develop rate cards and country-specific pricing.
- Bid & Proposal Support
- Lead technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs. Prepare:
- Solution documents
- Service descriptions
- Statements of Work (SOW)
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Participate in customer presentations, solution workshops, and due diligence sessions.
- Transition & Delivery Alignment
- Work closely with delivery teams to validate the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Support service transition, knowledge transfer, and handover to operations.
- Identify operational risks and mitigation plans.
- Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain presales assets, templates, and standard solution frameworks.
- Track industry benchmarks, tools, and automation in field services.
- Propose service improvements, productivity levers, and cost optimisation ideas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering (preferred).
- ITIL Foundation or above (strongly preferred).
- Any presales/solution architecture certification is a plus.
Required Skills
Technical & Domain Skills
- Strong experience in the IT Field Services / EUC / Desktop Support.
Good understanding of:
- ITIL processes (Incident, Request, Problem, Change) - Must have
- Field Services Operations - Must have
- Service desk integration with field support - Must have
- Device management (Windows, macOS, MDM, Intune, SCCM) - Good to have
- Asset management and logistics models - Must have
- Knowledge of ticketing tools (ServiceNow, BMC, Remedy, Freshservice).
Presales & Commercial Skills
- Solution design and service modelling.
- Costing and pricing methodologies.
- RFP/RFI/RFQ response experience.
- Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value.
- Stakeholder management and customer-facing communication.
