Software Engineer

At Preply, we are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team! As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the Preply platform, which connects students with expert tutors for 1-on-1 online lessons. You will work closely with our product and design teams to bring new features and functionalities to life, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable software solutions - Write clean, testable, and maintainable code using the latest web technologies and best practices - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing sessions to continuously improve the codebase - Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and technical debt - Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our technology stack and engineering practices Requirements: - 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in web technologies (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js) - Proficiency in writing clean, well-structured, and documented code - Experience with modern web development tools and frameworks (e.g., Git, CI/CD, containerization) - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric mindset - Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus - Experience with building and scaling SaaS products is a plus
