Role Purpose
The Pre-School Coordinator will be responsible for the academic, operational, and developmental functioning of the Pre-School section, ensuring a safe, nurturing, engaging, and high-quality learning environment for young children. The role involves supporting teachers, coordinating with parents, monitoring curriculum implementation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic & Curriculum Leadership
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of the Pre-School curriculum.
- Ensure age-appropriate, play-based and experiential learning practices.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom transactions, activities, and assessments.
- Ensure learning experiences support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.
- Encourage innovative teaching practices and the effective use of learning resources.
- Maintain consistency in academic practices across all Pre-School classes.
2. Teacher Support & Development
- Guide and mentor Pre-School teachers and facilitators.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Support teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and documentation.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programmes.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a positive professional culture.
3. Child Development & Well-being
- Monitor the overall development and well-being of children.
- Ensure classrooms provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
- Support teachers in addressing individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Ensure appropriate developmental records and observations are maintained.
- Coordinate with counsellors, special educators, or other specialists whenever required.
4. Parent Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for parents of Pre-School students.
- Address parent queries and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Organise parent orientations, meetings, workshops, and engagement activities.
- Build positive relationships with parents and keep them informed about their child's progress.
5. Administration & Operations
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the Pre-School section.
- Coordinate timetables, activities, events, assemblies, celebrations, and field visits.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, safety protocols, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor classroom resources, teaching-learning materials, and inventory.
- Maintain necessary academic and administrative records.
- Coordinate with the administration, transport, housekeeping, security, and other departments as required.
6. Safety & Child Protection
- Ensure strict adherence to child safeguarding and safety procedures.
- Monitor hygiene, cleanliness, supervision, and safe movement of children.
- Ensure teachers and support staff follow appropriate child-care and safety practices.
- Report and escalate any safety, behavioural, or child-protection concerns immediately.
7. School Events & Community Building
- Plan and coordinate Pre-School celebrations, exhibitions, performances, assemblies, and special events.
- Encourage activities that promote creativity, confidence, collaboration, and independence.
- Support the school's vision, values, and culture in all Pre-School activities.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- NTT/ECCE/Montessori qualification will be an advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably with experience in a coordination or leadership role.
- Experience in a reputed preschool, CBSE, IB, Cambridge, or international school will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning.
