Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Powertrain Calibration Engineer with experience in passenger vehicle powertrain calibration and energy optimization. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on expertise in vehicle-level and powertrain-level calibration activities, including WLTP optimization, pedal map calibration, thermal management, and power demand attribution.
Candidates from the EV (Passengar car) industry only.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform vehicle-level and powertrain-level calibration for energy optimization and driveability enhancement.
Execute calibration activities related to:
- WLTP optimization
- Pedal map calibration
- Power demand attribution
- Vehicle thermal management calibration
Optimize powertrain load management through:
- MCU set point calibration
- BMS power delivery optimization
- Thermal control optimization
Conduct on-road testing and calibration validation activities.
Manage and maintain calibration datasets and configuration files.
Perform diagnostic calibration of Master Control Unit (VCU/Main xCU) for overall vehicle coordination.
Support customer projects, testing activities, and R&D initiatives.
Analyze vehicle data and prepare technical reports for calibration refinement and troubleshooting.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including controls, integration, software, and testing teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
Hands-on experience with:
- INCA
- CANalyzer / CANoe
- Similar calibration and diagnostic tools
Experience in calibration and testing, including:
- On-road testing
- WLTP cycle calibration
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink & Stateflow or equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of:
- EV/Hybrid powertrain systems
- Motor, inverter, battery, BMS, and gear ratios
- Vehicle energy management strategies
Experience in:
- Powertrain load optimization
- Thermal control strategies
- Diagnostic calibration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience working in the EV sector with Automotive OEMs.
- Exposure to Hybrid/Electric vehicle testing and calibration.
- Understanding of CAN communication and vehicle control systems.
Educational Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical engineering.
