Job Description
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Maintain and repair aerial devices, digger derricks, and related utility equipment
- Perform inspections and diagnostics to determine overall equipment condition
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and chassis systems
- Restore equipment to full working order
Component Installation and Replacement
- Remove and install hydraulic system components including hoses, PTOs, pumps, cylinders, valves, fittings, and related parts
- Repair or replace aerial and boom components including rotation bearings, swing drive gearboxes, outriggers, tool circuits, and related systems
- Remove and install brake system components including air brakes, drums, S-cams, slack adjusters, compressors, and valves
- Service air conditioning systems including compressors, evaporators, expansion valves, and perform system recharging
- Remove and install manual transmissions, clutches, and flywheels
- Remove and install diesel engine components including injectors, turbochargers, fuel pumps, and cooling system components
- Service radiators and charge air coolers including fan systems and associated parts
Diagnostics and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Ensure all work meets safety and operational standards
Technical Knowledge Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Driveline and drivetrain systems
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of five years of experience in utility equipment or heavy equipment mechanics
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Professional demeanor with effective communication skills
- Ability to interact positively with vendors and customers
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a shop environment
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, including tools and equipment
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers
- Travel may be required based on business needs
- Must have close visual acuity for detailed work and equipment diagnostics
