About the role

Job Description

Equipment Maintenance and Repair 

  • Maintain and repair aerial devices, digger derricks, and related utility equipment  
  • Perform inspections and diagnostics to determine overall equipment condition  
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and chassis systems  
  • Restore equipment to full working order  

 

Component Installation and Replacement 

  • Remove and install hydraulic system components including hoses, PTOs, pumps, cylinders, valves, fittings, and related parts  
  • Repair or replace aerial and boom components including rotation bearings, swing drive gearboxes, outriggers, tool circuits, and related systems  
  • Remove and install brake system components including air brakes, drums, S-cams, slack adjusters, compressors, and valves  
  • Service air conditioning systems including compressors, evaporators, expansion valves, and perform system recharging  
  • Remove and install manual transmissions, clutches, and flywheels  
  • Remove and install diesel engine components including injectors, turbochargers, fuel pumps, and cooling system components  
  • Service radiators and charge air coolers including fan systems and associated parts 

 

Diagnostics and Documentation 

  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs  
  • Ensure all work meets safety and operational standards  

 

Technical Knowledge Requirements 

  • Strong working knowledge of:  
  • Hydraulics  
  • Electrical systems  
  • Diesel engines  
  • Driveline and drivetrain systems  
  • Power steering systems  
  • PTO systems  
  • Air conditioning systems  

 

Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required  
  • Minimum of five years of experience in utility equipment or heavy equipment mechanics  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills  
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  
  • Strong organization and time management skills  
  • Professional demeanor with effective communication skills  
  • Ability to interact positively with vendors and customers  

 

Working Conditions 

  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment  
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, including tools and equipment  
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers  
  • Travel may be required based on business needs  
  • Overtime may be required  
  • Must have close visual acuity for detailed work and equipment diagnostics
