About the Role
We are hiring a Power Systems Domain Expert to serve as our resident authority on how the electrical grid actually works. You will bring power-systems judgment into every decision across the company that touches the grid — architecture reviews, product roadmap conversations, client engagements, pre-sales discussions, and internal training. This is a horizontal role. Our engineering, product, and delivery teams already bring strong data, software, and program capabilities. What they need is a single point of reference for the power-systems side of the domain - someone who can explain how a substation fails, how a feeder is restored, how an ADMS thinks, how a GIS represents connectivity and why an outage looks the way it does when it reaches the control room.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the resident authority on power distribution operations, OT systems (SCADA / ADMS / DMS / OMS), utility GIS, and metering across the organisation.
- Ground the team's understanding of the grid — how the physical network is structured, how substations and feeders operate, how faults propagate, how outages are managed, and how utilities measure and report reliability.
- Provide power-systems judgment on product decisions, solution designs, and technical architecture across engagements.
- Advise the engineering and product teams on how utility source systems behave — what data they produce, how they respond under load and during events, and what is realistic to build against.
- Represent Grid as the technical peer to utility Grid Operations, SCADA, ADMS, GIS, Distribution Operations, and Network Planning teams during client engagements, workshops, and pre-sales conversations.
- Author technical position papers, design notes, and recommendations where a power-systems perspective is required.
- Contribute to product direction by translating operational realities of utilities into product capabilities that solve them.
- Represent Grid in OEM and industry conversations — Schneider, GE Vernova, OSI, Siemens, Hitachi, ESRI, and equivalent partners.
- Build up the team's grid literacy through internal reference material, walkthroughs, and mentoring.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in power distribution operations, or hands-on implementation and operations of utility OT and GIS systems.
- Deep understanding of how a power distribution network actually operates — substations, transformers, feeders, protection, fault handling, restoration, load management, planned and unplanned outages.
- Fluency in the physical distribution hierarchy (Grid Station → Power Transformer → Feeder → Distribution Transformer → Consumer), HT / LT split, and network operational workflows.
- Working knowledge of SCADA, ADMS, DMS, OMS, and utility GIS at a level sufficient to explain how they behave, what they store, and how utility operators use them in practice.
- Hands-on exposure to at least one of: Schneider EcoStruxure ADMS, GE ADMS / PowerOn / Vernova GridOS, OSI Monarch, Siemens Spectrum Power, Oracle NMS, Mobineers OMS, Smallworld GIS, ArcGIS Utility Network.
- Understanding of utility reliability metrics — SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI — and how they are computed from network events.
- Prior experience with an Indian DISCOM, Transco, or utility systems integrator, either as employee or consultant.
- Ability to explain complex power-systems concepts clearly to engineers, product managers, and business audiences.
- Ability to form and defend structured technical positions in front of client leadership, OEM teams, and internal architects.
- CIM (IEC 61970 / 61968) familiarity for network model exchange preferred.
- Power system studies experience (PSS/E, CYME, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory) preferred.
- OT protocol working knowledge — IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, ICCP, MultiSpeak — preferred.
- AMI / HES exposure — Fluent Grid, Landis+Gyr, Genus, or equivalent — preferred.
