Micro1 connects top 1% global engineering talent with fast-growing technology companies. We specialize in building elite remote teams using AI-driven vetting, ensuring high performance, technical excellence, and long-term alignment.

We are currently hiring a Power Electronics Simulation Engineer (SPICE) to work with one of our high-growth portfolio companies focused on advanced power systems and next-generation electronics platforms.

Role Overview

As a Power Electronics Simulation Engineer (SPICE), you will lead simulation-driven design and validation of high-performance power circuits. Your work will ensure that all designs meet strict quantitative performance criteria before hardware prototyping, reducing iteration cycles and accelerating product development.

This role is ideal for engineers who are deeply analytical, simulation-first thinkers, and passionate about designing robust, production-ready power electronics systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate analog and power electronic circuits based on detailed specifications.
  • Develop, edit, and optimize SPICE netlists using tools such as ngspice, Xyce, LTspice, or PSpice.
  • Model power converter topologies (Buck, Boost, LDO, Flyback, etc.).
  • Perform simulations for:
  • Efficiency optimization
  • Output ripple analysis
  • Loop stability (Bode plots, phase margin, gain margin)
  • Transient response and load step behavior
  • Define quantitative pass/fail validation metrics for all designs.
  • Select components using real-world datasheets and vendor SPICE models.
  • Identify limitations in vendor models and adjust simulation assumptions accordingly.
  • Automate simulation workflows using scripting tools.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate simulation insights into production-ready designs.
  • Document and communicate results clearly to cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in analog and/or power electronics design.
  • Strong expertise in DC-DC converter topologies (Buck, Boost, LDO, Flyback, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in SPICE environments and netlist modeling.
  • Proven ability to analyze:
  • Ripple performance
  • Efficiency curves
  • Loop compensation and stability
  • Transient response
  • Solid understanding of control theory and feedback systems.
  • Strong experience using datasheets and vendor technical documentation.
  • Experience scripting simulation workflows (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience across both open-source and commercial SPICE platforms.
  • Prior experience contributing to simulation-validated designs deployed in production hardware.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC pre-compliance simulation.
  • Familiarity with digital control loops for power systems.
Why Join Micro1?
  • 100% Remote – Work from anywhere.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with top global engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with elite engineers at fast-scaling tech companies.
  • Work on high-impact, production-level hardware projects.
  • Long-term opportunities and career growth within Micro1’s network.
