The ideal candidate will have strong experience in power electronics circuit design, hardware development, validation, and troubleshooting for embedded and industrial applications. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop reliable and high-performance power electronic systems from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced power electronics hardware solutions for PFC, AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC conversion systems.
- Define end-to-end hardware architecture including power stage design, protection mechanisms, thermal management, and embedded interface integration.
- Work on controller-based designs using dsPIC, STM32, Nuvoton, and other embedded control platforms for real-time power electronics applications.
- Develop and optimize SMPS, BMS, motor drives, inverters, converters, and power distribution systems for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Perform schematic design, component selection, PCB layout reviews, validation activities, and guide PCB standards for high-current and mixed-signal designs.
- Collaborate with firmware, embedded, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for hardware integration, prototype bring-up, EMI/EMC testing, and production validation.
- Conduct power analysis, thermal analysis, debugging, root-cause investigation, risk assessments, and prepare engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, and validation reports.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of power electronics fundamentals, analog/digital circuit design, and converter topologies including AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC systems.
- Hands-on experience with PFC circuits, SMPS, MOSFETs, IGBTs, transformers, inductors, gate drivers, and protection circuits.
- Strong experience with embedded controllers and microcontrollers such as dsPIC, STM32, Nuvoton, ARM Cortex-based platforms, and related development environments.
- Strong knowledge of hardware architecture design, PCB standards, high-current layouts, grounding, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and power integrity.
- Experience with communication protocols and embedded interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and LIN.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation and analysis tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, or equivalent.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, validation, and hardware-software integration skills with experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and logic analyzers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics Engineering.
- Experience in automotive, EV, industrial automation, renewable energy, or embedded product development.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and certification requirements.
- Familiarity with real-time embedded systems and high-speed mixed-signal hardware design.
- Experience leading technical reviews, mentoring engineers, and supporting product lifecycle development.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
