We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Architect to design, implement, and optimize modern data and analytics solutions. This role will lead end-to-end architecture across data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and visualization using Microsoft’s analytics ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data architecture using Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines)
- Lead Power BI solution architecture, including dataset design, data modeling, and performance tuning
- Set up and manage Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments, including governance, security, and capacity planning
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Factory and other integration tools
- Develop semantic models and enforce best practices for DAX, data modeling, and reporting
- Define and implement data governance and security frameworks (Row-Level Security, Purview integration, access controls)
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions
- Provide architecture guidance on data migration from legacy platforms (SQL Server, Synapse, SSIS, etc.) to Fabric
- Optimize performance, cost, and scalability of analytics solutions
- Mentor developers and BI engineers on best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Data & Analytics / BI
- Strong expertise in Power BI (Desktop, Service, Gateway, Embedded)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines)
- Strong knowledge of data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema)
- Advanced skills in DAX and Power Query (M)
- Experience with SQL, T-SQL, and performance tuning
- Experience designing end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Knowledge of Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, etc.)
- Experience in data governance tools (Microsoft Purview is a plus)
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices in data projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks / Spark / Python
- Exposure to AI/ML integration with analytics platforms
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Microsoft certifications such as:
- PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst)
- DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer)
- Azure Data certifications
