RoleWe are looking for a highly capable Power BI Developer to support a short-term project (on contract) involving transformation and preparation of existing BI reports for external presentation. The work focuses on adapting existing dashboards and data models while maintaining their structure, usability, and performance.
This is a fast-paced, execution-focused role suited to someone who can work independently and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Modify and optimize existing Power BI reports and dashboards
- Transform and restructure datasets within Power Query
- Implement data transformations and calculated logic within the data model
- Maintain report integrity (relationships, measures, filters, navigation) while adapting underlying data
- Update report UI (themes, branding, layout consistency)
- Ensure reports remain performant and logically consistent after changes
- Validate outputs and troubleshoot inconsistencies in data or visuals
Must-Have- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work on a contract
- Advanced proficiency in Power Query (M language) for data transformation
- Solid experience with DAX (measures, calculated columns, context handling)
- Strong understanding of data modeling (relationships, star schema, normalization concepts)
- Experience working with existing/complex Power BI models (not just building from scratch)
- Ability to debug and refactor reports without breaking logic
- Good understanding of performance optimization in Power BI
- Experience working with multiple data sources (Excel, SQL, APIs, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and data consistency
Nice-to-Have Skills- Experience working with large or complex datasets
- Experience modifying or repurposing existing BI solutions for different audiences/use cases
- Familiarity with data masking, transformation, or restructuring techniques
- Experience with custom themes and UI standardization in Power BI
- Basic understanding of business processes in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations
- Experience working in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments
