Poster House is the first museum in the United States dedicated exclusively to the design and history of posters. Opening in June 2019 in New York City, Poster House provides a space for inquiry for all those interested in design, advertising, and public interventions, with an aim to improve design literacy among the general public. Through its robust permanent collection, progressive rotating exhibitions, community-centered events, and innovative school programming, Poster House explores what posters say about society and how graphic design continues to impact the world with an emphasis on visual literacy.
Position Summary:
The Marketing Manager works within the advertising and marketing department at Poster House, overseen by the Director of Design and Exhibits. They act as a key facilitator in marketing, outreach, and promotional efforts for the museum, creating and maintaining the communications calendar, writing consistent and clear marketing copy, and regularly analyzing metrics and other data associated with the museum’s communications over multiple platforms. The Poster House communication and marketing strategy is closely linked to the schedule of exhibition openings and events at the museum, and therefore this position will be involved in maintaining the institutional brand and image while growing our core audience.
The regular schedule for this role is 10am–6pm Monday–Friday with flexibility for after-hours and weekend work as needed (approximately 15 after-hours events per year plus occasional weekends).
Poster House currently operates with a hybrid work model with staff working both remotely and on-site. The Marketing Manager would be able to participate in this hybrid work model, while attending all group staff meetings and professional development on site when required.

Poster House currently operates with a hybrid work model with staff working both remotely and on-site. The Marketing Manager position would be able to participate in this hybrid work model, with the expected day-to-day of the job able to be held remotely in a location that can accommodate multiple video meetings with clear audio and a robust internet connection. The Marketing Manager may be asked to be on site for select public programs (typically held from 6 to 7pm two nights per week, including weekends) as well as on First Fridays (held the first Friday of every month til 9pm) to record and post live content. The salary range for the Marketing Manager role is $70,000 to 75,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time Poster House employees receive 2 personal days, 5 sick days, and 2 bereavement days per year, as well as 20 vacation days, and are eligible for an extensive benefits package, including a fully-matched 401K plan after one year of employment at the museum.
