The Postdoctoral Researcher / Assistant Professor will contribute to the School of Technology's research, teaching and innovation agenda.
The position is designed for researchers who demonstrate the potential to build an internationally visible research profile while contributing meaningfully to teaching, student development, curriculum innovation, industry engagement and institutional research priorities.
The successful candidate will be expected to operate as an active researcher and academic, rather than primarily as a teaching faculty member.
The role carries particular emphasis on:

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. RESEARCH & SCHOLARSHIP
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally credible research programme.
Responsibilities include:
- conducting original, rigorous and impactful research;
- publishing research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences;
- developing a sustained research agenda rather than isolated publications;
- identifying significant and defensible research gaps;
- developing theoretically and methodologically rigorous research questions;
- preparing manuscripts for high-quality international journals;
- presenting research at international and national conferences;
- developing interdisciplinary research projects;
- contributing to collaborative research teams;
- establishing international research collaborations;
- developing research proposals for competitive grants;
- contributing to externally funded research projects;
- developing datasets, computational tools, models, algorithms or other research outputs where relevant;
- translating research into technology, policy or industry applications where appropriate.
Publication Expectations
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a trajectory toward publication in:
- Q1 journals;
- top-tier disciplinary journals;
- FT50/UTD24 journals where relevant to the candidate's field;
- premier technology/computer science conferences where conference publication is the disciplinary norm;
- high-quality international academic presses.
Publication quality, originality and intellectual contribution will be prioritised over publication quantity.
5. RESEARCH AGENDA DEVELOPMENT
The appointee will be expected to build an identifiable research programme around a coherent intellectual agenda.
Within the first year, the candidate should work toward:
- identifying a clearly defined research niche;
- establishing a 3–5 year research roadmap;
- developing a portfolio of high-quality manuscripts;
- identifying major international collaborators;
- developing competitive grant proposals;
- establishing a research laboratory/group or contributing to an existing research cluster where appropriate.
Candidates with an existing independent research programme will be expected to demonstrate how they will expand it at Woxsen.
6. EXTERNAL RESEARCH FUNDING
The faculty member will actively pursue competitive research funding.
Responsibilities include:
- identifying national and international funding opportunities;
- preparing grant proposals;
- developing multidisciplinary research teams;
- contributing to externally funded projects;
- developing industry-sponsored research;
- developing international research partnerships;
- managing research projects and deliverables.
Potential funding ecosystems may include, as relevant:
- Government of India agencies;
- DST/ANRF;
- MeitY;
- DBT;
- SERB legacy programmes;
- international funding agencies;
- European research programmes;
- industry-funded research;
- corporate R&D;
- international foundations.
7. TEACHING & LEARNING
The appointee will contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education as appropriate.
Responsibilities include:
- designing and delivering high-quality courses;
- preparing course materials;
- integrating contemporary research into teaching;
- using innovative pedagogical approaches;
- incorporating technology-enabled learning;
- designing assessments aligned with learning outcomes;
- supervising projects and dissertations;
- mentoring student research;
- supporting experiential and project-based learning;
- participating in curriculum review and development.

8. STUDENT RESEARCH & MENTORSHIP
The successful candidate will be expected to actively develop student research capability.
Responsibilities include:
- mentoring undergraduate research projects;
- supervising postgraduate dissertations;
- contributing to doctoral supervision subject to eligibility;
- developing student research groups;
- mentoring students for research competitions;
- supporting student publications;
- supporting student participation in international conferences;
- developing research internships;
- connecting students with external laboratories and research institutions.
The goal is to build a culture in which students participate in real research rather than merely completing academic assignments.
9. INDUSTRY & APPLIED RESEARCH
