Position: Manager-Material Mechanical Engineer, Job Location: Gurugram / site
1. Scope/Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for design & engineering of process equipment, bulk material handling system, and utilities related to equipment for chemical / processing industry.
2. Major duties/responsibilities:
• Preparation of engineering design calculations & selection of Material handling facilities (which includes bulk receiving unit, truck tippers, crushers, vibrating screens, conveyors & other related equipment/ machinery for metallurgical and chemical industry.
• Work with other engineering disciplines for development of technical documentation related to basic engineering, detailed engineering, design engineering, system engineering layout finalization and system sizing of equipment.
• Preparation of technical specifications for procurement of process, material handling, utility & other related equipment.
• Design of plant layout elevation & profile drawing of bulk material, handling system, crusher house, transfer tower, belt conveyor, pipe conveyor, diverter gates, chute systems, dust extraction, duct extraction & other equipment.
• Preparation of assignment drawings for conveyors, transfer towers, crusher house, etc.
• Responsible for power calculation of conveyor for customer submission, design & volume calculation of emergency reclaim, hopper & silos, size calculation of chutes, stockpile area calculation etc.
• Preparation of design basis report, flow diagram, layout specification, technical datasheet, technical evaluation report, etc.
• Responsible for mechanical engineering design, detailing, costing and coordination with electrical & civil department for conveyor system for project.
• Proposal engineering for the purpose of cost estimation and tendering.
• Assist in technical evaluation and recommendation of offers from vendors.
• Role in identifying expert PMC/ consultants & discuss with them to ensure receipt / delivery of critical designs/drawings as per technical specification on time.
• Support the procurement department in identifying equipment manufacturers, discuss technical specifications and provide approved drawings/ inputs to ensure supply / delivery of required machinery as per specs within agreed upon timelines.
• Responsible for vendor drawing review, equipment selection, technical and bid preparation.
• Release manufacturing clearance to vendors for engineering drawings approved by client.
• Plan site visit to ensure proper implementation of the design and provide guidelines in the execution and commissioning stage of the system.
• Implement quality control basics during plant recovery grade and its ramp up.
• Responsible for project progress review, identification of risk and risk mitigation planning.
• Key responsibility in development & training to improve quality and cycle time.
• Any other task or duty as assigned by the superior.
