Job Title: POS Systems Engineer / Technical Lead

Note: This is not a POS testing role. The position is focused on POS system engineering, integrations, architecture, and production support.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced POS Systems Engineer / Technical Lead to manage the stability, integration, and evolution of modern Point-of-Sale (POS) platforms across retail environments.
The role involves leading POS–SAP integrations, Control-M batch orchestration, system reliability, and production support. The candidate will collaborate with QA, SAP, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure high availability, data accuracy, and scalable retail operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesPOS Platform Leadership
- Act as the technical lead for POS platforms and integrations across multiple regions.
- Define architecture standards, best practices, and integration frameworks for POS systems.
- Support cloud-based POS environments and store rollout initiatives.
Integration & System Architecture
- Lead real-time and batch integrations between POS systems, SAP (ECC / S4HANA), and other downstream systems.
- Collaborate with SAP teams on IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and financial transaction accuracy.
- Ensure data consistency and reconciliation across POS → SAP → Finance systems.
Control-M & Batch Orchestration
- Design and manage Control-M job scheduling, dependencies, and orchestration workflows.
- Implement failure handling, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
- Improve automation and reduce manual intervention through proactive alerting.
Incident Management & Production Support
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis (RCA), and long-term remediation plans.
- Provide L3 production support for complex POS and integration issues.
- Participate in on-call leadership for critical system incidents.
Retail Transaction Management
- Ensure accurate processing of sales, returns, exchanges, tax calculations, tender, loyalty programs, and promotions within POS systems.
Operational Excellence
- Define and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational KPIs.
- Improve POS system performance, reliability, and monitoring frameworks.
- Support platform upgrades, new feature releases, and modernization initiatives.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers and guide cross-team technical problem-solving.
- Work closely with QA, DevOps, vendors, and business teams during releases and system rollouts.

- Unix / Linux environments
- SQL for troubleshooting and data validation

Preferred Experience
