About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Polyglot Architect / Engineer to drive the design, architecture, and development of scalable, distributed systems across our platform. This role blends deep hands-on engineering with strategic architectural leadership, working across multiple programming languages and modern cloud-native technologies.
You will play a critical role in defining technical direction, building scalable backend platforms, mentoring engineering teams, and driving engineering excellence across the organization.
This is an ideal role for a high-impact polyglot engineer who thrives at the intersection of architecture, system design, and hands-on development.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
Define and drive end-to-end system architecture across multiple products and platforms
Design scalable, secure, highly available distributed systems and microservices architectures
Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices
Lead technical decision-making and influence engineering direction across teams
Act as the technical escalation point for complex architecture challenges
Engineering & Development
Build and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java and PHP (Laravel) along with other modern languages where needed
Design and develop robust APIs, backend services, and data pipelines
Work across polyglot environments using languages such as Python, JavaScript, Go, C#, or Ruby
Implement real-time data processing pipelines using streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Apache Flink
Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
Platform & Cloud Architecture
Design and deploy cloud-native architectures on AWS, GCP, or Azure
Build systems leveraging microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems principles
Architect solutions using SQL and NoSQL databases including MongoDB
Drive adoption of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and guide engineers, senior engineers, and tech leads
Conduct code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical design discussions
Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, QA, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Drive engineering culture around quality, scalability, and technical excellence
Innovation & Technology Strategy
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns
Lead initiatives for legacy system modernization and platform evolution
Stay current with advancements in distributed systems, cloud computing, and software architecture
Required Qualifications
10–15+ years of software engineering experience, including architecture and technical leadership roles
Strong experience as a Polyglot Engineer working across multiple programming languages
Deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, and scalable backend architectures
Hands-on experience with Java and PHP (Laravel) in production environments
Proven experience designing enterprise-grade platforms and high-scale systems
Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and backend architecture
Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and decision-making skills
Ability to mentor teams and influence technical direction across engineering groups
Experience working in remote or distributed teams
