Salary Range: $25,060-$ 31,274 (Depending on Licensure Level and Experience)
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED; additional education and/or training desirable.
Possess or qualify for a New Mexico Level 3 Educational Assistant License

Good organizational ability; good written and oral communication skills; ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters.
Essential Job Responsibilities of Instructional Assistant (Library):
· Works cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators.

· Support teachers with literacy activities, small-group instruction, and research projects.
· Supervise students in the library to ensure a safe, quiet, and respectful learning space.
· Maintain circulation records; check materials in and out using library management software.
· Shelves returned materials accurately, organizes book displays, and ensures the library is neat and orderly.
· Assist with inventory of library materials, including cataloging, labeling, repairing, and weeding books as directed.
· Provide basic technical support with computers, tablets, and other library equipment.
· Enforce library rules and procedures; support positive student behavior.
· Prepare instructional materials, bulletin boards, and learning centers.
· Support school-wide literacy initiatives, book fairs, and special events.
· Monitor student use of digital resources and support safe, responsible technology practices.
· Perform clerical duties such as maintaining student records, filing, copying, and responding to staff and student inquiries.
· Assist substitute teachers or staff in navigating library resources when needed.
· Assists licensed personnel with student discipline.
· Assists individual children in need of special attention.
· Assists with reading and/or storytelling.
· Participates in in-service training programs.
· Contributes to the welfare and effectiveness of the classroom(s), the school, and the district by adhering to high standards of performance and interpersonal relationships.
· Model acceptable social skills in working with students, teachers, parents, and supervisors.
· Report unsafe or dangerous surfaces and/or conditions in hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, entrances, and classrooms.
· Performs other job duties as assigned.
