Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in education, educational leadership, counseling, administration, or related field;
· NM teaching License with endorsements as needed.
· Experience working in student supervision, discipline, or leadership roles.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff.
· Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Position Summary:
The Dean of Students provides leadership and direct support for student behavior, attendance, school climate, student engagement, and wellness systems in alignment with the district’s strategic priorities and the school’s instructional mission. The Dean serves as a key member of the school leadership team and leads implementation of proactive, restorative, and student-centered systems designed to support academic success, belonging, safety, and positive student outcomes.
The Dean of Students supports implementation of a schoolwide Restorative Practices and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model. The Dean of Students position emphasizes prevention, relationship-centered leadership, equitable practices, and alternatives to exclusionary discipline while collaborating with students, families, staff, and community partners to support the success of all students.
