The Opportunity
UST is looking for PnP Validation Engineer.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Testing & Validation skills on various Mobile, Tablet and Ultra book technologies
- Basic all hardware parts knowledge & processor technologies (Storage, Memory, WiFi, BT, Audio, Camera, Sensor etc.,)
- Board Setup & Integration - OS installation, BIOS/IFWI flashing, HW rework, configuration of new equipment’s etc.,
- Fundamental testing experience in Windows different OS environment/ Online Benchmarking tools, CPU test tool usage etc.,
- Understanding of Processor (SOC) Architecture – GPU/CPU/IO/PCH/Sleep states
- Depth knowledge on System Performance & Power Measurement testing
- Hands-on experience with DAQ/NIDAQ/scope/LabVIEW equipment’s
- Working with SOC power methods including Power Trace, Socwatch, etc.,
- Basic debugging knowledge, troubleshooting skill is preferable
- Understanding and writing of test cases/process instruction as per platform and software specifications for Power/Performance/Responsiveness
- Hands-on experience with DAQ/NIDAQ/scope/LabVIEW equipment’s
- Understanding of power management flows at the hardware, firmware, and driver levels in depth & residency states like P-states and C-states.
- SOC power method including Power Trace, Socwatch, etc. experience.
- Working knowledge of hardware debug tools like LTB, JTAG, LA & O-scope & power methods including Power Trace, Socwatch, etc.,
- Strong debugging/triage skills to identify the root cause of issues for fix in HW level
- Responsible for power optimization & enhancements for Windows platforms & to reduce power consumption at a system level.
- Perform power leakage and bottleneck analysis at sub system level
- Work with Platform architects to define Power workloads, metrics, and measurement methodology & reviewing projections.
- Identifying battery life and performance issues across domains such as Media, Imaging, Graphics, CPU etc., on all Intel's laptop and desktop platforms on Windows OS.
- Hands-on experience on Power Analytics tools for optimizations across various components of SOC and platform including different IP blocks, clocks, power domains, buses and interfaces.
- Providing strong technical expertise and direction while troubleshooting complex system level power issues
- Collaborating across teams to identify new power savings features or performance tuning algorithms, driving these optimizations into current and next-generation Intel platforms
Required Skills
- 3 to 5 years of working experience in triaging power and performance KPI's.
- Good background in Linux Operating system
- Experience with Linux internals like kernel, shell, client-server protocols, threads, processes, and file systems
- Should be an expert in triaging/analysing kernel, system, and other logs
- Proficient in bash or python scripting language
- Expert in different triaging and debugging techniques in Linux environment
- Lead the team in technical front
- Strong trouble shooting skills
