Role Description This is a full-time, on-site PLC Programmer role based in Coimbatore. The PLC Programmer will design, develop, and configure PLC programs for industrial automation projects, including robotics and machinery control systems. Daily tasks include interpreting electrical and control schematics, writing and testing ladder logic and other PLC code, integrating sensors and actuators, and troubleshooting control systems during commissioning and maintenance. The role involves collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and robotics engineers, preparing documentation, and ensuring that automation solutions meet safety standards, performance targets, and client specifications. The PLC Programmer will also support continuous improvements to existing systems and provide technical assistance during installation and after deployment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Schneider) and industrial automation concepts.
- Experience with control system design, including I/O configuration, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP), and HMI/SCADA integration.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Skills in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning automation systems in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices related to industrial control systems and robotics.
- Relevant academic background such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Willingness to work on-site in Coimbatore and occasionally travel to customer locations for project execution and support.
- Prior experience in robotics integration or manufacturing automation is an advantage.
